A Story behind a Clothes Reach Hook Tutorial
I braved myself to look for a welder during CoronaVirus Lockdown in Jakarta. My costumes were laid on a dining table, it was a shipwreck, I needed a hanger stand. Most welders went to their home town, against the government's order. After cycling for 2 days, tens of hours searching, I only found 1 who was available. He asked for a crazy price, under a time crunch I had no choice but to agree.
He worked fast, & modified things without asking me first. The bottom rack should be replaced by stronger cylinder bars, but he said materials shops were close, so he used available square bars. He had a pregnant wife, so after he delivered it, I gave him more money; I know, I'm stupid.
There should be a bar in the middle of the bottom rack, which didn't come to my mind at that time.
There was an accident with another design, so I asked the welder to return the extra money that I gave him, he said he would ask his boss to return it. But this Covid-19 made him jobless, his boss didn't have the money. The welder promised to find a way to pay me, so I told him to take care of his wife first, & not to worry about it.
One thing that I learn is that once the hanger stand is delivered, I can't ask the welder to change it. I should've threatened the welder to ask me before making a decision, & to change it before delivering it, or else I wouldn't have paid it. I should stop being so nice, screw my soft darned heart!
